The Next Generation of Decision-Makers

Leadership at the senior level requires more than just experience—it demands strategic thinking, informed decision-making, and the ability to lead through complexity. The ACUHO-I Senior Housing Officer Institute (SHOI) is designed to support emerging senior leaders in campus housing who are ready to shape the future of their departments, institutions, and the field at large. SHOI is more than a professional development opportunity—it’s a transformative experience that builds confidence, connection, and clarity for the road ahead.

While SHOI remains tailored for professionals within the first five years of their first senior-level role. The 2026 Institute embraces a more inclusive approach—welcoming directors from across functional areas such as housing, residence life, facilities, operations, and beyond. This expansion recognizes the diverse organizational structures of campus housing and empowers supervisors to identify the right leaders on their teams for this level of development.

Mark your calendars for February 9-12, 2026.

Location

This year, the Institute will take place on the campus of Texas Christian University at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center. The Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center offers a central gathering place for campus visitors and over 96,000 alum worldwide. Please see the hotel tab for information on booking your stay in Forth Worth.
